Ugh this is stressing me out. I wish they would tell us already
I’m ED so I’m literally freaking out. Just got deferred from one school but I’ve been accepted to two others so whatever happens, happens.
Just wondering… anyone applied to RH Political Science major?
My last name starts with B… Nothing yet
I did! I applied EA and I’m planning on doing a double-major in Poli. Sci and international relations!
@Fiona1997 I did!
Should we hope for tomorrow
@CeliaAP @sspiker16 that’s awesome!!
So disappointed
Very upset with this process. The uncertainty is quite ridiculous with this school.
I texted my sister to ask when she got her decision (she is a sophomore at RH)
Hopefully she will respond soon
What time did likely letter emails go out?
When my D got a likely letter (email), it came in at 6:30 pm Central Time
@aznboi4981 , what are you upset with Fordham about?
From the second anyone here pressed “submit” on their common app, Fordham has had a single message:
“Early Action (EA) and Early Decision (ED) applicants will be notified on or about December 20th”
Now last I checked, it’s only the 15th, which I guess can loosely be considered “about”, but the implication of the statement is quite clear. All of this tea leaves reading, checking last years, and other prognostications and false setting of expectations and dashing of hopes has come from the members of this community, NOT the school.
If you don’t want to be constantly disappointed, wait until you get your email on or about the 20th and then go check the portal. No time wasted, no constant refresh, no check CC every few minutes, no disappointment in the process.
Sorry if this sounds a bit harsh, and I totally get the angst associated with not knowing and the tension associated with knowing that the moment of truth is nearly at hand. That said, irrationality can only be allowed to go so far before one has to put the handbrake on and get people to take a deep breathe.
BTW WRT “time”. I’ve seen the statement about things being released at “3:00”. Please do keep in mind that no matter where you live, there are more people who don’t live in your timezone than those who do. So given that there are people here from across the country (and even from other countries), please be explicit about which timezone you’re referring to (if you know it). In this case I assume 3:00 is Eastern, but in posts I’ve seen, folks were going by the time they saw on a post (which is likely localized) so if someone from the west coast made the original comment then it could just as well have been 6:00EST.
If you got this far, thanks for listening and good luck to everyone.
Amen, @txNerd .
@txNerd Excuse you? But there is uncertainty with this school. We do not know the school’s method for likely letters. Additionally, it was said on the forum that admission reps said scores should start being released today. So please, before you attack, learn the facts.
@aznboi4981 , Fordham never promised anything WRT “likely letters”, so again, I fail to see what the issue is. Plus, if you’re referring to the post by my counterpart in NY ( @newyorknerd ):
“decisions are usually released starting today and that we would probably get an email”
First, I don’t know NYNerd so I don’t know why I’m supposed to place some massive trust in a statement by some unknown person on some interwebs post. Secondly, even if their statement is completely true, “usually” and “probably” don’t really seem like any kind of guarantee to me.
Let me put it this way, unless you have a decision that can benefit from some earlier knowledge of whether or not you were accepted (e.g. you are going to not send some apps due today if you know that you made it in to Fordham), really all you’re looking at is the fact that you are impatient. Like I said before, if you don’t like the stress of it all, you have the power to address it by simply focusing on finals (or basketball or StarWars or whatever) until the 20th. It’ll be good practice in self discipline so you don’t go bonkers if you have to wait 3 months for RD.
@txNerd If you are going to argue with me, get your facts together please. Fordham mentioned NOTHING about likely letters, and we were all left in the dark not knowing what the formula was to get one, or why others did not. Please, understand what you’re talking about before you go bonkers. Take a seat. Good day.
Please, let the arguing ensue! Makes waiting for decisions that much more entertaining.
fight! fight! fight! (Not to take sides or anything, but txNerd is 100000000% right)
