Hello! I am a newly accepted student to the Fordham University Lincoln Center undergraduate program. I am so excited about this news as Fordham is my first choice! I was also offered a position at the Lincoln Center Honors Program. I am extra excited about this offer as it seems that it would exceed all of my hopes for a college experience, and it fully engages its students in the New York City lifestyle. I was already offered the Dean’s Scholarship, but the details of my financial aid are still unannounced. I saw on the website that the Presidential Scholars are not declared until April 1st, but I have also heard that these students generally find out about their scholarships before this date, or are always National Merit Scholarship recipients. Is this true? Do I have a chance at receiving this Presidential Scholarship or a full-tuition scholarship? (I am not a NMF but I have an SAT score of 1530 and a weighted GPA of 4.7-my high school does not rank). I also saw that only 20 kids receive the Presidential Scholarship, but due to the small number of honors students, are the majority of honors students Presidential Scholars? Thank you so much!
Did u have a any luck with additional merit @fill03?
Sorry that this is late. I’m a sophomore in the LC Honors program. Only 1 person in my class has the Presidential scholarship out of the 14 in my year. That scholarship is granted based mostly on statistics, whereas the Honors Program has a statistical minimum but admission is much more based on essays and whether the applicant clearly loves learning.
