Hi everyone! I was wondering if Fordham sent out likely letters for its EA applicants… and if they do, when are they usually sent out?
They do send out likely letters! I was given a likely letter last year around this time of year!
First I’ve heard of this, although I am new to this whole process since my older D wanted to stay in- state. Is this for athletes, or to any type of EA applicant. We did get a fin aid email the other day giving us instructions for the aid portal and deadlines, but I had no idea likely letters were a thing.
@college1997 oh wow nice!! what did it say in the letter? praying i get one…
I got the financial aid “next steps” letter too, but honestly didn’t read much more into it other than acknowledging receipt of my CSS profile.
@jnkam24 I didn’t read anything into it either, other than that I appreciate their communication and organization. The procedures between various schools really do differ! Good luck to you.
Yes that is true. It’s nice to have all the dates in one place! I think I saw on the temple thread your daughter(?) is applying to Temple as well. I just got a accepted to Temple on 11/9. Good luck to you too!
Thanks! It’s my son actually. He wants to be in a big city, so we added Temple just last week. He’s cast a wide net, NYC, Los Angeles, etc., and I think a lot will come down to cost in the end. Congrats on the Temple acceptance!
@physicsfan7 It basically says that you are on the high end of the applicant pool and that you will most likely be (99% chance) accepted.
Strange, it saved an old draft. Ignore… Nothing to see here.
I applied ED and I have not received anything yet
I just received a likely letter! Anyone else?
@extrapeppermint so did i! i got the email!!! congrats!
Yay! Congrats to you too. I’m excited!
I just got mine too! So excited
I just got mine!!!
I received my likely letter today!! YAYYY I’m so excited! Congrats y’all
My D got one tonight, less than an hour ago.
what exactly is a likely letter? is it the email advising of css profile/fafsa? thanks
@Chabro It is different than the fafsa/CSS reminder email that many got.
in this case, the email straight out said my D was admitted but that the portal wouldn’t update until Dec. 20. I’ve heard others say that some “likely letters” are just that … they say “you’re near top of applicant pool and are likely to be admitted.”
The Fordham email today did not include any merit or financial aid info. That will come later.
