Hi guys! Accepted into Lincoln Honors!!! $15K Dean’s Scholarship, I emailed my counselor and basically asked him “hey I’m National Merit pls tell me I get full tuition at some point.” I so hope I get it - if not, I do not think I can even entertain attending. Too young 2 be in debt lol
my stats:
SAT: 780 R 760 M superscore, 7/7/8 essay
SAT II: 800 USH, 790 WH

I think what really got me in was my essay - I got really damn poetic, starry-eyed, and I meant every word too - and my Russian and Arabic. Plus I’m from Georgia.

Did anyone else get an email today inviting them to a Presidential Reception in your local area? If so, does anyone know if this means that a merit award may still be forthcoming? Or were all merit awards distributed with the acceptance email?
@YoungOne4 Also received an invite to Presidential Reception, but no idea what it means in relation to merit award. DD acceptance didn’t mention any merit.
@booksdog&icecream. Ditto here.
Last year my D17 was invited to a local Presidential Reception. My impression is that all early admits are invited. There were some young alumni there, as well as one current student, so it was nice for D to talk to them. While she did end up being awarded a merit scholarship in Feb., I don’t think you can read anything into the invite. Congratulations on your acceptances, my D is having a great freshman year at Fordham.
Got in EA. 35 ACT 4.0 GPA (UW). 4.65(W). Got dean scholarship (15k) and accepted into global business honors program. Don’t know exactly how competitive or big is a deal that is, so any info on that would be nice.
but excited to have this as an amazing option. Just hoping I’ll get some more scholarship aid in February… congrats to all!
@scorekeeper1 Thank you!
Accepted to Lincoln Center! 30 ACT, 1370 SAT, 3.89 GPA. Planning on majoring in Psychology! No info on any aid, although I heard it will be given out BEFORE February this year!
@daisypoppy11 Do you mean merit aid or need-based aid? Also, where did you hear that?
Earlier in the discussion people were invited to Presidential Receptions about a month ago and they seemed to figure out that it was Regional. I wouldn’t read into it if you did not receive an invite. For what it’s worth, my D has a 4.0 UW and 35 ACT and was awarded Fordham’s full tuition scholarship for National Merit Semifinalists and has NOT been invited to any reception. Good luck to all of you!
^ I have also not been invited to any sort of reception, which I’m assuming is due to the fact I live in Tennessee! I have a 36 ACT, 4.0/4.65 GPA, and was admitted EA with the full tuition scholarship for national merit. I was also accepted into the Global Business Honors Program! Good luck to all.
I hope my student decides to go to Fordham at Lincoln Center. I realize that academics and campus life will be a priority for most any student, but I am very interested in learning how students might best integrate themselves with New York City – and take advantage of the incredible opportunities in the City. We are not from NYC and so don’t have lots of information or insights. As an example, are there cool places to study within easy walking distance? It was a lot of fun during college to find appealing, quiet places to study, eat or buy groceries etc. I’m especially excited that Central Park is so near. I have also been reading widely about study abroad opportunities, particularly the London program.
