Fordham University vs Drew University

Hey guys, so I’m debating between these two universities and I just want to get some input on them from anyone who’s attended or knows somebody who’s attended either one of these places. Money won’t be an issue with either one of these schools, so it’s really just down to the school itself (I’m also planning to visit them soon).
P.S. I also got into the Drew Baldwin Honors Program, any commentary on that?
Thanks for responding and helping me out!

What is going to be your major? Overall, I think Fordham is a better school, but you should decide after visit.

Cost? Goals?

I’m going in as a bio major with a pre med track. Overall I’m leaning toward Fordham but I don’t want to eliminate Drew quite yet

Cost of both schools are pretty similar, drew just gave me a little more money than Fordham but nothing huge. Goal wise- I’m going in as a bio major on a premed track

I would revisit both for accepted students day and then decide. I would think the vibes of the schools are different enough (small suburban LAC v urban Jesuit university) that you would have a preference. I would also look at Fordham’s extensive liberal arts core curriculum and be sure you are OK with those requirements.

FWIW my S went to Fordham, was in the business school, and loved it. He wanted a mid-sized urban university so Fordham was a great fit for him.

Fordham!

Do you like cities or suburbs?

Hey, current Drew student here (senior, in Baldwin Honors, studying biochemistry), thought I’d weigh in on the Baldwin program. Mainly it’s an organization to promote academics and research in all fields. The program offers additional scholarship money, special advanced courses, access to a Baldwin Honors floor after your first year (in the nicest residence hall), research grant opportunities, free cultural trips (like Jazz at Lincoln Center or Broadway shows), opportunities to present research on and off campus, and the chance to write and honors thesis. Good luck with your choice, and if you have other questions, I’d be happy to try and answer them.

Tbh I’m fine with either, I live in a suburb that’s 30 minutes away from the city so it’s not gonna be anything I can’t handle

thx for that insight! Gave me a much better perspective on Drew. Anyways since you’re a senior, can I ask you some questions about Drew. What are some pros and cons about the university? What would you do differently? What advice would you give to incoming freshman? How has your experience in the honors program helped you in your intended field?

Are you a student at Fordham? Can I ask you some questions about it?
