foreign credentials evaluation

i sent all my credentials to Joseph Silney a foreign credential evaluator.
this is what they calculated:

class 9 & 10 : english : A
hindi(2nd language) : A
maths : A+
science : A+
social studies : A+
class 11 : english : A-
chemistry : A
physics : A+
maths : A+
omputer science : A+

overall GPA : 4.19

i am currently doing class 12 and i have been predicted something better than this (around 95%)

i want to know how good is this when compared to other applicants to top schools (i am applying to top engineering schools like ucb, mit, stanford, gatech etc.)

is the above GPA weighted or unweighted?

will the admission officers also arrive at the same figure when evaluating my transcripts

i am actually doing the indian based CBSE curriculum

anyone????

It seems to be an unweighted GPA (a weighted GPA gives extra GPA points for harder classes). But usually there are no A+s and the upper ceiling is 4.0. Many colleges re-calculate GPAs using their own policies so colleges may arrive at a different GPA.

I don't see why you are complaining about those grades - they are all As. Great job!!! Those grades definitely make you competitive for top colleges but you will need more than good grades to make the cut.

do colleges require a foreign credentials evaluation?- this is the first time i am hearing bout them.

Most colleges who frequently get applications from foreign students don't ask for those evaluations because they can compare applicants with the same educational background side-by-side, which is a lot more effective than comparing foreign applicants to American standards using a (more or less) random grade conversion scale.

But I think Georgia Tech is one of the colleges that require evaluations and that's probably why the OP had it done.
