So I'll be starting at Tufts this August. I deferred enrollment last Fall to study in Germany for a year. I speak German very well now, and I understand pretty much everything. My grammar isn't perfect, but I'm always understandable. I'm trying to decide if I should take more German at Tufts, or if I should start a new language. I'm sure that I would be able to improve my grammar if I took German, but I'm not really how much more my German could improve. I guess I'm just sort of looking for advice from other that have had the same experience.

Why not take one or two more German classes to improve your grammar, and then start another language? That's what I would do.

You can always take the placement test with Professorin Stoessel, as well as discuss with her your situation once you come back from Germany. You can also take Advanced German (121/122), during which you'll still practice some grammar, but mostly through reading Der Spiegel. Es macht Ihnen ehrlich nichts aus, wenn du Prof. Stoessel einen E-mail schicken willst.
Glueck auf und gute Reise!

^^^^ That's really good advice.

Thanks, I sent the email!

oh, and I believe Prof. Stoessel is out of the country right now and has limited email access, so if she doesn't reply, just give it a couple of days.
