I’m currently taking a foreign language class of a level 2 and in the future, I am hoping to apply for Harvard that requires 4 years of foreign language but I do not like thie idea of having 2 more years of foreign language due to the fact that there are other clases I want to take and I was wondering if it will make it impossible for me to get accepted into Harvard if I don’t take 4 years of foreign language, besides, do I really have to take a foreign language class if I already speak a foreign language?
If they want foreign language, then I would advise taking foreign language. Otherwise, look elsewhere.
Slim chance to get in to Harvard even with 4 years of foreign language. Nah, make that a Fat Chance.
No chance to get in to Harvard without 4 years.of foreign language, since they want it.
Even if you could get an exemption for already being fluent in another language, it does not sound like you have mastered English yet - that is one heck of a run on sentence!
I think this blog sums up nicely WHY Harvard recommends four years of a foreign language, rather than two years of one language and two of another: https://www.quora.com/How-important-is-foreign-language-requirement-for-Harvard-admissions.
That said, international students who attend a high school conducted in any language OTHER THAN ENGLISH are exempt from Harvard’s graduation requirements for a Foreign Language. I would image that situation also applies to the recommendation of four years of a FL in high school: http://handbook.fas.harvard.edu/book/other-requirements#two
