Hi, so I have a question. I'm going to take the Japanese placement test during orientation but I've never really taken a Japanese class. I've been teaching myself. I want to take it in college though. Should I still take it even though I've never had an actual class?

I was actually in the same situation, wanting to take Japanese and having studied it some on my own. However, I knew that there was no way I could do well on the exam, so I will now be taking the test in Spanish (which I have taken classes in) as they want you to take the test in a language you have studied in school previously even if you do not intend to pursue it further.

Thanks @theoldguitarist I took Latin but I was thinking about switching to Spanish. No chance of getting a high score in Spanish since I have not taken it in years. I’ll take Latin then switch.
