Hi,
I am entering my senior year of high school, and I am considering applying to Emory ED.
I have a 34 ACT and will finish with 13 total AP classes. I am currently scheduled to take AP Spanish, and I have already taken Spanish 1, 2H, and 4H in previous years. I am considering switching out of AP Spanish to take another AP class, but I wanted to know how much weight Emory puts on 4 years of foreign language vs. 3 years.
(I posted this a few minutes ago in the main college admission page but wanted to repost under the Emory subtopic)
@9876abcd : May not really matter that much, but please question yourself. Are you switching out of AP Spanish into the new AP course because you really want to take it, or is it primarily to show increased diversity of the AP courses you take. It may look better or be better for you to finish out a full Spanish curriculum to show some focus/passion (assuming you are not a native speaker). I think they will understand that you have lots of experience in foreign language and are likely not sticklers for 3 versus 4 years. I think I only did 3. Emory is not some stickler on specific numbers so much as overall rigor. Assuming you did well in those APs and got good scores on most/all of them, I think you have achieved that.
