Foreign language?

Hey guys so I've been taking French for three years now and I absolutely hate it and am not doing very well in the class. Freshmen year I had a solid 98 in the class, but it sophomore year that dropped down to a B and again this year another B. Overall negatives of the class are that I don't life french, I don't like the teacher that teaches french, it's bringing down my gpa, and overall I really don't want to continue.

However, My college adviser and my teacher adviser have been telling me that it would be better to take a total of 4 years of a foreign language. They've been telling me that it's what colleges look for and that I should really consider taking French again next year because I just have one more year left.

So my question to you is this: Would it be better to keep taking french, to stop taking a language completely, or stop taking french but take Chinese(I'm going to either major/minor in Japanese and i want the Chinese background)?
