Foreign language

Im a senior in high school and i didnt take any foreign language classes but i have a good GPA. 3.2. Took honors and AP. I want to get into umass boston but im worried about the 2 year foreign language requirements. Would it be waived because i cam read and write and speak 2 languages besides english and just speak another and so far can write in another language (arabic).

I seriously doubt it. If that’s a requirement for admission and you haven’t completed it, you won’t get in.

In many if not most district, you cannot even graduate from high school with 2yr of foreign language.

At this point, what can you do about it? At my school, you needed at least one year of a foreign language to graduate - and this was essentially a bare minimum. Selective colleges recommend that you have enough foreign language to be able to speak and read it proficiently. Now, whether that applies to Arabic you will have to email them to find out.

I believe for some colleges if you have taken an SAT II with or without listening and get above say a 700 you will bypass that requirement. You should definitely check

^Exactly.

Also, you can easily place out of language courses at many schools by taking a placement exam in the beginning of your freshman year, in the non-English language of your choosing.
