Foreign Lanuage requirement for College of L&S?

So according to the website it can be fulfilled with a "Letter grade of C– or better at the end of the third year of a high school foreign language". I took 2 years of Spanish in middle school (Spanish 1-2 and Spanish 3-4) then took 2 more years of Spanish in high school (Spanish 5-6 and Spanish 7-8). Does anyone know if this would count as fulfilling that requirement even though two of the years didn't take place in high school? The 2 years of Spanish from middle school do appear on my official transcript by the way. Thanks!

Are Spanish 5-6 and Spanish 7-8 third and fourth year high school language classes? If so, you should call the college and tell them that.

@loldanielol Yup! They’re considered third and fourth year of Spanish

Looks like if you got at least a C- in the 6, 7, or 8 course, you fulfill the requirement. Contact L&S to verify.

Yes, that does count. I took French 1 over a period of 2 years in middle school and took French 2 and 3 in high school. Counts as fulfilling the requirement.

Does 3 years+ of foreign language in an out-of-state HS count?

If you reported/will report it when applying, there’s no requirement that it as to be in California. (if you were enrolled in an out-of-state HS at the time)

OK that’s good, thanks.
