I forgot to hand in my vocab sentences to my english teacher today.. she accepts it late but, at max, she will give me 1/3 of the full credit. Even though, ultimately, I know the blame is on me, she didn't remind us during our entire period in the library. (We were in their to get research for our papers.) Usually, in the classroom she would collect it and ask for it.

Although I'm not 100% sure, I think there wasn't many other students that handed it in, because I didn't notice anyone handing the homework to the teacher during the period. For sure, there should be at least 1/4th of the class that didn't hand in the homework as well because she didn't verbally ask for it. I just realized I didn't turn in my homework when I returned home. Also, I went up to the teacher 3 times to ask questions and talk to her about my research paper, and she didn't even ask for my homework, although, she probably knew I didn't hand it in yet. Is there a way to save my homework points, you think? What would you do in my situation?

Just let the homework points go. Obviously, she has made her point that you have to be responsible by yourself. It sucks, I know...my teachers pull that in my classes too...at least you got a 1/3 of the points...we have manual homeworks from the AmPag in my class that are like mini-tests and she gives 0 credit for late stuff (even at the end of the period) and hasn't EVER reminded us. At least you're not the only one to forget, and your class rank will not suffer because of one isolated incident.

Email it to her or get back to the school with a copy of it and slide it under her door if you can't get a janitor to let you in to put it in her in box or mailbox along with a note saying you brought it back as soon as you realized you hadn't handed it in during class (date the note). If you're lucky she'll appreciate the extra effort and cut you some slack since you got it to her on the day it was due. If not, she'll at least know it's important to you.

Take a deep breath and relax. It's just one homework assignment. If your homework grade is low (if it even comes to that), you can make it up by doing well on tests, projects, and papers.

Also, it is your responsibility to remember to turn in your homework. She can't possibly keep track of everyone who hands in their homework, so it's not up to her to remind those who might have forgotten to do so.

But in the end, it's one homework assignment. Don't lose too much sleep over it. It would be unfair for her to let you go on this one, since then she would have to change the policy for everyone else.
