oh crap! I just realized that I forgot to turn in my chemistry lab by 3 pm today on my teacher's desk... My teacher has a policy that you can turn in an assignment by 3 pm on his desk, and that every school day late, 10% is deducted. I had typed and finish my lab yesterday, and I had a free after chem class that I could revise stuff if I wanted... Turns out that I didn't need to revise anything, and I totally forgot to hand the lab in! Dammit, at least I could use the weekened to perfect everything to get a 90....

have any of you turned in stuff late and have points deducted? should I worry a lot about this?

At our school, if we hand anything in after the due date we automatically get a 0, they don't even care if you were absent that day: so you shouldn't worry. that much.

last year when i took chem, u could hand a lab in late if u were absent while doing the lab or absent the day its due, and u have up to 2 days to hand it in, and after that it is a 0 no matter what

I meant to say that you can only hand the assignment late the DAY OF the due date, if you were absent, my bad.
But still, my school's hw/assign completion policy is rather harsh.

CALL HIm! This same thing happened to me. I called my teacher at home completely freaking out, he had pity on me and let me turn it in the next morning (or school day in your case). No teacher is truly that heartless. Tell him it was an honest mistake.

It's one assignment. Don't worry about it--there's nothing wrong with a 90 to me, especially if it's just an isolated mistake as in your situation.

I once told my teacher that I was too busy preparing for the halloween party and couldn't do anything school related. She gave me 3 days to redo the stuff.

If it's an english paper, we have to hand it in on the due date. If we're absent, we have to somehow give it to someone to turn in for us. If we have an incredibly good excuse, we can hand it in on the next school day (We have A days and B days that alternates AP english and APUSH)

Yeah actually. It's called every class I've ever been in. Deadlines are assigned not so that we can break them and feel like there is a safety net. Personally, I like it when teachers enforce these rules if they clearly state it on their course expectations.
