In my high school you have to take a qualifying test to get into an AP Class. You first need to get a recommendation from your teacher, then take a test with 100-150 other students and the top 50 students get accepted into AP's. That is the reason I was only allowed to take one junior year.

I'm applying to the Faculty of Languages and Linguistics in the Georgetown College Early Decision. I am fluent and can also read and write Farsi. Furthermore, I am fluent in Spanish. I attended a Farsi school for seven years and I have also spent the past six summers at the Kingston School in Barcelona, Spain where I worked on perfecting my Spanish. This last summer I took part in a college study abroad program in Salamanca, Spain.

Traveled internationally to countries such as: England, Italy, Spain, France, Germany, Austria, Portugal, and Iran.

Georgetown has been my dream school for as long as I can remember. I really feel like the classes I have taken in school and my interests outside of school revolve around my passion for languages and hopefully the admission officers will realize that when they see me applying to the FLL.

So what do you guys think?

What's your uw GPA? I would say you have a great shot though because of your ECs, URM status, and the fact that you speak Farsi and Spanish. Unless your uw GPA is really low, I'd say you're in.

thanks for the positive feedback, can you tell me what URM status means?

I'm not sure what my UW GPA is but I also have not taken my SAT II's. How much will that affect my acceptance if I don't perform 700+ on them.

I think you'll get in.

URM=Under/Unrepresented minority. I wouldn't worry too much about the SAT IIs, I have taken them yet either. Just don't screw them up. It sounds like you should do really well on Spanish.

A Persian kid at Georgetown is URM? Gtown is chock full of Persians, and Persian kids would apply as white or asian. I have about the same stats, and similar ECs, but I'm applying as an Italian major. I guess we're in the same boat.

Good Luck.
