Forgiveness for a transfer student?

Hello,

I transferred to Ohio State after my freshman year at a small private university. This university consisted of < 1,000 people on campus, and nearly no social life. My first year here in Columbus, I was astonished by the social opportunities and yes, I’ll admit that I let those opportunities take a toll on my academics. I transferred here with 28 credit hours, 22 of which were actually transferred and put toward my degree. Here, as well as at many other schools, there is “freshman forgiveness” for a freshman(student with <30 credit hours) that has received a grade of D+, D, D-, or E. In my first semester of classes here I took 15 credit hours and received a D in one. Is it possible that I can receive the forgiveness since I was under 30 credit hours while taking the course, or do the courses in progress count toward those 30 credit hours of eligibility?

Thank you for any help.
