forgot an essay...

my friend just applied to USC and she told me she forgot to submit one of the extra essays (the one relating to communications). i guess the deadline is past, so do you guys have any suggestions?

wow.....ouch. Well, besides that, I did get the chance to slip in an extra recommendation letter (already had 2, but 3 would't hurt), I e-mailed the dean of admissions and he told me it was OK and that I should fax my rec letter to admissions. But something like the essay I'm not so sure about. Have your friend e-mail the admissions office.

ok i will tell her. i think she's calling them tomorrow. yea... it doesn't seem too good especially since that's her first choice.....

hmm what communication essay?

what communication essay, ah my guidance counselor has been absent so he hastne sent in my recs yet, am i screwed? my app was sent b4 the deadline
and another thing, i had problems formatting my extra curric part so i sent in a letter with an explanation and a list of my extra currics in the format needed. blah this is bad

I only see 4 essays... 1 main and 3 short answer... what else is there? someone enlighten me with what this communication essay is all about

Maybe something for a specific school?

I applied to the School of Journalism as my second choice and I had to write an additional one-page statement of intent. Maybe that is what you're talking about...

yeah, thats the essay. In order to be considered for the school of communications/journalism though you have to put it as your first choice. Last year I put it as my 2nd choice and didn't get into my first choice major so I was just admitted as 'still deciding'. When I called and asked about it they said that the communications school will only consider you if that's your first choice major. If you put it as 2nd choice it wont show up on your application later. But yeah, that's the essay ilovelamp is talking about i think.
