Forgot to submit writing supplement on time

I’m applying REA to Princeton and didn’t realize that you have to submit the supplements separately from the rest of the common app. I noticed this morning (Nov 2nd) and submitted them late. Do you think my app will still be part of the REA pile or will it get moved to regular? I did shoot them an email but I know I probably won’t get an email anytime soon since its a busy time for them.

I think most likely your application is still considered as an SCEA. You had also submitted a graded paper, right?

Graded paper unfortunately is part of the supplemental submission. I really think you should be OK, as I bet you are not alone in having made that “mistake”. I think it is the design flaw of CA.
That being said, if the “worst” case scenario comes true, Princeton does not really give SCEA applicants an edge if they are unhooked, so your chance of getting in RD is not less (or more).
I hope your application is still considered EA, but even if it is not, it won’t be the end of the world. Far from it.
Good luck.

Hey I ED-ed to an ivy and did the same thing. I emailed the admissions person for my district asap, and they replied to me that my material looks all in and that I will still be considered for early decision. I sent in my supplement writings on the morning of 11.2 also. Best of luck to you.

hey! as long as you submitted the common app on time, you should be fine. I did the same thing and called them today, and they said they’d still review my supplements.

My son sent his application on Friday but wasn’t able to attach his graded paper because the file was too large. This is a glaring problem with the CA . We called Admissions and they said we could attach via the portal once it was established or we could email it. My son asked which was preferred and they told him to wait and do it through the portal. We did that Monday morning. All is well for him so all should be well for you.
