Well, in Harvard's website it says IMMEDIATELY (meaning as soon as possible), but I want to get a real idea on past applicants. When did you submit your application and I am not saying EVERYTHING, but just the Common Application or the Universal Application. Want to know this as I am applying this fall. Thank You.

I submitted my app the day before it was due, or maybe it was the actual day it was due. I don’t remember at the moment, but I do know I procrastinated until the last few days. That’s not to say I didn’t work on my application before then though - I started writing the essays around Thanksgiving time, but I didn’t actually submit my application until one of the last days.

I submitted my entire application by the first week of December.

i sent in everything by the first week of november (because i did yale scea and the apps are virtually identical, also did the same for princeton).

I think I would send an application early, though the difference in terms of admission prospects would probably be minimal. I would send in early because then you can send more information to add to your file after the deadline is over - it might show that you really want to go there and might give you some sort of boost in terms of showing interest in the university.

I sent it in by the first week of December.

December 1.

I think that if there is a tendency for people who got into Harvard to have submitted their apps in December, it is probably a correlation but not a causation. Harvard likes students who are on top of things. Students who are on top of things may tend to be able to submit their apps early. Students who are on top of things may submit their apps on Jan 1, but there are more students who aren’t as prepared submitting then too. Very few unprepared students will submit early. Therefore, it may look like submitting early gives you an advantage (and it may) but I doubt it.

I used a decent amount of time to read and reread my application, and submitted it on January 1st.

do you guys think it would be adequate if I submit my application in the third week of November and then I submit the rest of the required documents by the middle of December. I don’t know how admissions work, but does anyone have an idea if applying early actually gives you an advantage (getting accepted, financial aid).

for financial aid 100% certain it doesnt makes a difference at all. harvards finaid is legit

in terms of getting in, ive seen nothing to suggest that it matters that much. i would think that a better application is always the goal, and if submitting early detracts from that thered be no real reason to submit early for the sake of submitting early

it seriously doesn’t matter when you send in your app-- i have friends who work at the admissions office and something like when you send it in is so trivial. i mean maybe your regional officer has mood swings from day to day, but that’s just luck.

20 minutes before the deadline, then my payment was a few hours late. i don’t think it matters.

I sent in my Yale (SCEA) and Harvard apps the day before their respective deadlines and got accepted to both. A deadline is a deadline; as long as you submit it by the requested date, they will know that you are fairly well-organized. Take your time and don’t rush to submit an unpolished application two weeks early. Come to think of it, I think I even forgot some documents on my Yale app and had to send them in late…

I submitted my application before the priority deadline. Seriously, it can help you a lot. If you’re one of the border line applicants, you might get an interview very late on. I got my interview around two weeks before decisions came out, and I think that was what got me in. Good luck.
