Has anyone received emails or letters telling them that they have been accepted to freshman direct for the Foster School of Business?

I haven’t received anything yet either.

D received her email last year 9-10 days after admittance letter. Best program ever! Good luck!

What if I don’t get directly admitted to Foster? I read that I would have to take general ed courses until I can apply at the end of my sophomore year to Foster. Is that true? If that’s true, what happens if I don’t get admitted at the end of my sophomore year? I want to be an accountant and probably need to take the accounting courses Foster offers.

To be blunt, it means you’re out of luck - so if you don’t get in as a direct admit, don’t slack on those gen ed classes as a freshman/sophomore.

I got into UIUC and Case Western Reserve’s accounting program. If I don’t get into Foster, is it better to go with UIUC or Case Western then? And if anyone has knowledge of this, is UIUC or Case Western Reserve better for accounting? I know UIUC is always in the top 10, but is CWRU close by in terms of accounting rankings? Thanks!

If you’re not in-state for Washington, I would recommend that you go for Illinois even if you get DA into Foster. UIUC’s accounting program is one of the best in the country and is more heavily recruited than Case. Unless you got scholarships/FA from Case, UIUC would be cheaper (and only slightly more expensive than UW). I also got into UIUC for accounting and I’m planning on going there unless I get into UCLA/Cal (not accounting). Unless you get DA into Foster AND want to work in Seattle/West Coast, I would say UIUC would be the best choice.

I GOT ACCEPTED TO FRESHMAN DIRECT! If you’re still waiting to hear back from them, check your junk folder on your email!

Congrats ajm :)
