dd just got her email!!! She is beyond excited :)

Stats? Do they send emails in batches or is it just one wave?

I got accepted on the 23rd as well. Via email for those wondering.

Stats: 3.997 gpa (4.0 for 2 years at community college through running start). In state. 34 ACT. Only 1 or 2 major EC’s though.

Also heard via email on Friday afternoon but emails go directly into your UW email acct. So check there.
Stats: 3.85 with AP/honors class, ACT 30. EC’s, Community Service and Essays -Very good.

I was accepted and wondering, does anyone know how competitive it is to get in? I’ve heard how competitive CSE is but is foster? Is it true there is no class on Fridays for business majors? I thought an upperclassman told me that last year

Just from personal experience and networks - I don’t know anyone who has been vocally frustrated about not getting into Foster. It’s mostly just “oh I didn’t do the essay part well, I’ll just fix that and I’ll be in next time,” not like CSE where people apply 4 times and even transfer to other schools because they can’t get in. Of course, some people don’t end up getting accepted, but I haven’t heard that story that much … might just be who I know though.

There are obviously more spots in Foster than CSE, but probably more applicants.

Yeah upper business classes are generally T/Th (but in 2 hour blocks). Many of my friends have Friday off or don’t show up to the one lecture they have (general education credits?)…umm… show up to class. :)

stats: 3.9 gpa, all APs available, 1980 SAT, 30 ACT
In-state. Tons of EC’s, leadership, community service.
Essays - good
3.9 in UW English 131 taken at her hs - might have helped
Also, she participated in the 2 online chats that were offered, maybe good to show interest?

@speedsolver: Yeah definitely seems like it. I was just wondering if there were any stats on how many freshmen get into Foster as direct admits. just out of curiosity :)

The Foster School admissions office told me that 400 students were offered admission and they expect 200 to accept. Will know more after the Freshman Direct meetings next week. i am sure there are many fd students still deciding which university to attend.

My advisor told me that about 50% of UAG (upperclassmen) applicants get in for Foster. I’m not sure about Freshman Direct, since I was a UAG applicant.

Upper business classes can be T/Th OR M/W. Like your friend said, not many are on Friday.

Thanks guys!
