Foster UAG Admissions

Does anyone know of any statistics about admissions for the business school? Like the typical number of applicants, percentage accepted, average gpa, gpa range, etc.

And how heavily do they look into the application essay responses?

every prospective freshman who had a ~2000 SAT and decent gpa from my school got direct admit.

Lowest stats of someone I know who got into Foster:
1900 SAT
3.7 UWGPA (with 9APs though)

Oh I actually mean for current students applying who didn’t get in through freshman direct, but thanks, it’s still good to know.

Oh, hmm. I don’t really know the stats, but you can probably some helpful information here:

[Check Application Requirements](<a href=“Undergraduate Programs | Foster School of Business”>Undergraduate Programs | Foster School of Business)

You’ll find the requirements and the early admissions group vs general admissions. There seems to be workshops for the writing part, so I’m assuming they’re expecting competitive students to show up to those to get the most out of the workshops and to be prepared.

You can also go in and talk to an advisor on what you should do to prepare, and ask about the admissions statistics.

Here is an Admissions Factor Chart that gives a breakdown of what it sort-of took to get in (outside of the personal statement). Keep in mind the WSA Score is out of 6.

Admissions Factors Weight Applicants Admitted

Combined GPA 40% 3.38 3.55
Pre-App GPA 25% 3.5 3.71
WSA Score 35% 3.72 4.55

Thanks! That’s exactly what I was looking for.

I’m assuming the last two numbers are averages right? Ouch, I’m more on the general applicant side than the admitted :/

Yeah the last two are averages.

I wouldn’t be deterred though, especially if you already go to UW. Just do the best you can in your classes and write a killer personal statement. I was just at a party a couple of days ago and I met two girls who are in the business school who told me having about a UW 3.2 GPA is the magic number for kids in the UW already. According to the Foster website, applicants have about a 50/50 shot of making it into the business school. Pretty decent odds.

Thanks that makes me feel a bit better. I haven’t taken the WSA yet so hopefully I will do well on that at least.

So is it true that you can get in with a 3.2 Combined GPA?

Also, does anyone know if those stats that Ebonics posted are for UAG or EAG?

UAG 2009 fall

admitted: 3.5-3.6
WSA: 4.2

2003-2005

average admitted : 3.4 -3.5
WSA: ~ 4 -5

the lowest admitted GPA: 2.50
highest admitted GPA: 4.0
lowest WSA score you can get and still be admitted is a 3.

Thanks, just what I was looking for. Also, I know I want to take Econ 201 and Stat 311 next quarter but what should my third class be? Should I take my second Composition/Writing course or should I fulfill another VLPA credit? I am taking 7 VLPA credits this quarter and I guess I can take 3 next quarter so I can focus on my pre-req classes.

Thanks.

^Yes, take a VLPA for your third course.
