Founder's Scholarship

I am debating between SMU and UT and basically my decision comes down to some clarification on the Founder's scholarship.

When I received my acceptance it included a 'Founder's scholarship' award, which noted that I could receive 'UP TO $60000'. Basically I'm wondering is this $60,000 guaranteed or is it conditional? Could I very well end up with $4000 instead?

If anyone has experience with this specific scholarship feel free to leave some feedback,

Thanks!

it is broken up for 4 years (15k yearly, 7.5k a semester ). If you do not meet the requirements (3.5 GPA a year I think + a certain # of credit hours), you lose it. Also, if you graduate a semester early, then you wont be given the entire 60k because you used it for 7 semesters, not 8.

Thank you so much for the clarification, I think I’m just about ready to sign my name on the dotted line!

Go Mustangs!

KTF1994 is correct - 8 semesters & “full time” enrollment (12+ hours). I think the minimum cumulative GPA may be only 3.0 though. You could confirm with your adcon. Good luck!
