Founding a club

Hey guys
so our school doesn't have lots of clubs
and I was thinking of founding a group like
"Math Club" or "Amnesty International Group" or something else...

However, our school as Out Reach club in which we fundraise money and donate to many organizations.. so it's kinda similar to Amnesty International.

What do you guys think?
Do you think Math Club or Amnesty International would work?

Can anyone tell me which club or group is most influential in your school?

THX very MUCH ! :):)

i know this is very very cliche....

but pick what interests you the most! both look good to colleges but if you do it only to look good then that undermines the purpose of creating a club.

Yea that's what i thought....
if i'm not gonna have fun with the group i had created, there's no points right?
I'm a fundraising person so i guess i'll create a math club maybe...

I Co-Founded a "No Place for Hate" group. We didn't do much at all, but it looks great on the resume.

Math club? Okay man, I'm not trying to be mean, but that sounds very nerdy and looks like you are trying a little too hard. Make a club for something you actually like (unless you DO love math, then i apologize).

actually i like math

bump 10 char

you could make an atheistic club (unless ure religious)

i don't have any religion

Any clubs to make that will look brilliant on my resume?

Will math club look nerdy to adcoms?

If you are actually passionate about math then it shouldn't look bad. But don't just do it to look "academic".

I wanna make a Tri-M music honor society...

you could make an agnostic club maybe.

The New World Order Club.

what are agnostic club and the new world order club?
What do you do???? I have a no idea

Definitely do not make a club solely for the purpose of making a club and thinking it'll look good on a college resume. Because although it might be exhilarating at first to create a random club, you probably won't enjoy it once you start realizing that you're gonna actually have to plan activities and such, unless if it's something you're totally in to.

Has anyone ever thought of opening a "Peer College Advisors" club in which students from school kind of talk to each other about the colleges they've looked at? I know it sounds extremely geeky, but I really like learning about different colleges and what each one has to offer.

Well, I founded my school's Table Tennis and Key Clubs this year. Good experiences, but a lot more work that I assumed.

Are you only considering Math and/or Amnesty? I've been a member of both, so if you'd like, I can definitely help you out.

Awesome to hear about your initiative in starting a club! Definitely wish there were more leaders like that at my school...

That Peer College Advisors club sounds interesting- if you find enough interest you should give it a go!
