Four AP Classes 2017 || Tips and Review Material?

AP exams are about two months away and I just wanted to see if anybody had any advice on what to study for to pass (4 or higher) the following exams.

  1. World History (I’ve heard Ethel Wood is good, does anybody have a PDF/EPUB of this? I really can’t afford to buy it. I have two PR books but the test has changed this year so my teacher says its not that great. I use Kaplans SAT Subject test a lot for some reason. Going to get my hands on a Crash Course just in case.)
  2. Human Geography (I have a 2003 Barrons that is doing the trick for now as well as a PR book.)
  3. U.S. Government (Absolutely lost in this class. Bought the 2017 PR, going to start using it now. I’ve heard of Crash Course and AMSCO. If AMSCO is really good, I can ask my teacher for it so I can make copies of the pages)
  4. English Literature (Someone gave me a barrons once, haven’t used it)

I’m very worried about US Gov’t and I can’t depend on my teacher to learn the material. I’m fairly confident that I’ll get a 4 on Lit. As for HG and WH, I really need to get a 5. It’s a strange mix of my own expectations as well as my teacher’s expectations of me. It’s more of a personal goal than some college credit, to be honest.

At this point I would greatly appreciate any sort of documents or just general tips for the day of the exam. Maybe someone can suggest a study schedule? For now I’m just copying down information since I find it easier to memorize things after writing them down.

@Tenebris I have the same issue as you, but it relates to AP HUG. I’m only taking AP HUG this year, but our class is not even done with all of the material. We also are using a book from 2010. As a result, I now have to self-study for the AP HUG test in 5 weeks. As for tips, I recommend using the AP HUG Crash Course. Well, now it is crunch time.

@Mahindra I’ve actually started using REA for HUG already. Studied the models just the other day and it helped me answer some FRQs for a test. I find the PR books for HUG to be poorly written, or maybe I’m just expecting too much lol. How many chapters do you have left? We just started industrialization and talking about the revolution a bit.

4 chapters for me.

For AP Gov you said you’ve heard of Crash Course did you mean the youtube channel or the book? The youtube channel has saved me on unit tests and a good way to get an overview of topics and a quick review before the AP exam.

I meant for AP HUG.As for Gov, I would not only recommend Crash Course but to do several other things.First, just read up on Ballotpedia, Wikipedia ( for the principles of US gov, but be careful though), and just watch the news.

I don’t know how useful this is but here is a link I found with resources for AP Gov;

And also, you might want to cover gerrymandering.

@Mahindra Thank you! And yes, I think I’m fairly capable of answering a question on gerrymandering. That topic has come up in Gov, HuG, and my two Law classes. Lol. Never heard of Ballotpedia, going to look it up now.

@singingwriting Was referring to the book. I know there are some videos on YT for Gov’t but I find it easier to remember things I can read and copy. But I have used Crash Course (the videos) in the past, we use the World History one quite often for APWH.
