Hello All!
I’m excited to be considering UCLA as an option. I was recently admitted (which blew my mind). I have some questions…
A. I understand that I needed two English composition classes to transfer successfully. At my current institution, UW, we only need one English composition and two writing courses (which can be composition courses). I have taken one and also taken Business Communications (which counts as a major composition class for the major). I indicated to UCLA in the comments section that I would attempt to sign-up for another English course, but, I wasn’t able to fit in my schedule.
Would taking the one English composition class and the one Business Writing composition class meet the two English composition requirements? I’m scared of getting rescinded for that reason…
PS: I’ve also taken another “composition” course in Ethnic Studies course.
B. I got into my second choice major… I really wanted to get in the Business Economics major, but was offered my second choice which was not competitive. I know that the major I was offered admission to is my primary major and I’m aware that Business Economics is selective and impacted.
I do meet all the requirements for Business Economics and I have completed some Finance/Economics work at UW. I was wondering… is it possible to declare Business Economics as a DOUBLE major on top of the current major I’m admitted to, if I provided the fact that I’ve completed some coursework in Business, Economics, and Finance?
Or is that only acceptable vice-versa?
C. For students at UCLA who are interested in Business, do the clubs/organizations generally help you more? Or does the major play a big role in affecting career aspects?
Also, I’m out-of-state at my current institution and would not mind returning home (California Resident).
Thank you for reading. It was long. I appreciate it so much. Looking forward to (possibly) being a Bruin
