From previous experience, which breadth courses would you recommend to take or to avoid?

I'm planning on taking Music 27 with Foglesong, and looking at his reviews, it seems like a really great class. I've heard that ESPM 50AC is really good? Is that because it's easy or because it's legitimately interesting?

What about Gender and Women's Studies 50AC with Fulmer?
Philosophy 2 with Barnes?
Psych 1 with Mangan?
Asian American Studies 20A with Dong?
Sociology 3AC with Niyogi?

Thanks!!

ESPM 50AC is not as easy as the reviews claim they are anymore because the Prof reads the reviews and make the course harder and harder each semester.

Thanks, I read that somewhere just now! I think I’ll take Music 27 and Asian American Studies. My backups will be Ethnic Studies 21AC, Poli Sci 2, Philosophy 2, and Psychology 1. Hopefully that’ll be okay :)

However, ESPM 50AC does cover the AC requirement and any one of HS, PV, or SBS categories in the L&S 7-course breadth.

Asian American Studies 20A covers any one of HS or SBS. Ethnic Studies 21AC covers AC and any one of HS or SBS. Music 27 covers AL. Philosophy 2 covers any one of PV or SBS. Political Science 2 covers either IS or SBS. Psychology 1 covers SBS. Gender and Women’s Studies 50AC and Sociology 3AC cover AC and SBS.

Ethnic Studies 21AC is a really easy class and Dr. Brown is really awesome. She’s super engaging and brings in speakers from a variety of cultural and ethnic backgrounds for the second half of the semester. She gives you the test questions beforehand for the midterm and final, making it really easy to study for.
