Franklin and Marshall vs.Trinity College (CT)

Hi there, after narrowing down choices, I am trying to now decide between these two colleges. I am planning to be an English major, hopefully persuing journalism or publishing. I am also thinking of being a sociology minor if possible. I’ve worked on my high school newspaper for all four years and am planning to do the same for college. I am definitely not an athletic kid and am not from a rich financial background but I’m afraid one of these schools will have the “snobby” and overly-rich feeling from the majority of its students. I will be a first-gen student as well. Overall, what is your advice and opinions about these two schools? Thank you!

Having visited both (plus I live close to Trinity and have spent a decent amount of time there) I’d say you’re better off at F&M as far as an economically and geographically diverse population. F&M prides itself on its number of international students. Also, Trinity is in a bad neighborhood of Hartford, which isn’t a great city to begin with, and has a bad rep for drugs.

Thank you! That’s very good to know!
