I’m glad that you find the thread helpful. About your concern I totally understand because I was worried about the same thing before I came to F&M. I am an international student so my experience can be somewhat different from an American student’s. However, I am sure there are many people who don’t party every week, drink, smoke or do drugs and their choice is respected.

I do agree with Swiftie123 that college is diverse with many different groups of people and it’s likely that you will be able to find your niche. There are plenty of clubs at F&M (sports, academic, music, culture, etc.) that you can try. You can also form a club that serves your own interest if you have not seen a similar one on campus. The beginning of your freshman year is the perfect time to be open as much as possible to interact with people to find good friends. After the first year everything will change (most people will move out of their freshman dorm, you declare your major and see the same faces in most of your classes, you go to less clubs because you want to focus on some clubs, some people turn out to be different from what you think, etc.), so the key is to explore as much as possible and as early as possible to increase the probability of finding the right people.

Per F&M Admissions Twitter, they are shown taking the letters to the Post Office Friday around mid-day. I haven’t seen mention of loading to the application portal. Good luck.

I also read F&M Admissions Twitter and I must say that all the officers are so nice and so cute!!! I really can feel their enthusiasm just from the internet. Good luck, everyone !

Accepted! International student, needed a lot of aid. 3.75 GPA, 2200 SAT. International awards in writing and debate, and EC’s concentrated on the same. I’m extremely excited!

I am an international student applying to F&M RD. I’m curious about the optional essay under the commonapp. I hear the essay certainly boosts chances of getting in, but i would like to know; with SAT scores of 730 in Writing and CR and 670 in math, and a pretty impressive activity and honours list, can i safely not write the essay and still have high chances of admission?
