Ok so I got into IUB as a freshman, but I ended up going to an out of state private LAC.

I'm 3 semesters in (48 credit hours) and had a leave of absence. I was a biology major. I realized I don't like it here at my lac and decided to apply for transfer.

I'm worried because my gpa isn't great (2.83) and i applied way past the deadline. I read on the website they will only accept if there are more available seats.

I also applied to the school of computer science and informatics because I want to major in computer science.

I'm worried about getting in because I'm taking a huge risk right now banking on getting into IU. I tried applying online to iupui but it wouldn't let me select fall 2012 for admission even though I was a visiting student this summer.

I am very frustrated because I'm trying to go to IUB or iupui because I want to save money. I proved I could get in the first time, but there's always a chance I might not get in?

I can't afford to get behind a semester and my lac is too expensive to go back to just for a biology degree.

What should I do?? My dad is trying to convince me to just go back to my lac before its too late.

If I wait and see if I get accepted to IU, and I don't get in, I'm screwed. Iupui won't even let me apply online for the fall semester.

Also what if I get in and all the classes I need to take are full??

Are you enrolled in your LAC still? You’re applying very late so that might not help your chances. I would suggest trying to find other colleges that would be cheaper for you to apply to as well as IU since your GPA doesn’t help you very much. Maybe send a letter to IU explaining why you want to be at IU.

I would telephone IUPUI admissions if you want to go to IUPUI in Fall 2012. They can probably tell you over the phone why you are having trouble applying online. It seems like it would be pretty easy to get into the University Division; then transfer to a degree granting school within IUPUI later. In any case, they will be able to let you know in a few minutes. IUPUI admissions office: (317) 274-4591

Non degree students can register all the way to the last day of registration in August, so you should be able to take classes and transfer them later when you apply to a specific IUPUI program.

Apply as early as you can for best course availability.

Applications will be accepted until noon on the last weekday of registration.**
