<p>Hey i'm applying to the Frederick Douglass distinguished scholar award at American University and I have a question about one of the essay questions. The last one says "Describe any experience conducting academic research. What research interests would you explore at American University?" What kind of research counts as academic research? Like writing a research paper or what? Also what kind of research has/can be done with this scholarship. Thanks!</p>
