I got accepted to fredonia and accepted their offer.... But oneonta was my dream school. What's your opinion? I haven't visited fredonia but heard good things about it. I'm really nervous that I made the wrong decision... Please help

I think you should visit Fredonia. Fredonia has a freshman retention rate of 81. Oneonta is 87.

Major?

Did you hear back from Oneonta yet? Why not wait for their decision?

If you’ve accepted Freedonia’s offer, isn’t it a done deal?
I accepted both offers… double deposited by mistake. And then I told Fredonia I wouldn’t be attending because I got accepted to Oneonta.
BUT… Oneonta is being kind of shady, saying that they may take away my offer of admission because of a grade I’m getting in ONE class. So I might end up at Fredonia. I told Fredonia that I may be going there now, and they said to just let them know. I just hope that it’s the right school for me.
Wait, you accepted two offers, and THEY’RE being “kind of shady” because they want you to maintain your grades? Isn’t that pretty much their job?
Anyway, one huge factor in my book when it comes to SUNY is distance. Those two schools are about 300 miles— that’s a good 5 hours-- apart. Depending on where you live, that could make a huge difference in your decision.
@Mooswag, I think Oneonta and Fredonia are both good schools. What GPA do you need to maintain to keep your acceptance? If one grade is enough to tank your admission, I’d have to assume it’s either in a course required for graduation and/or it brings your overall GPA down below the lower range of scores they accept for admission. Have you talked to your guidance counselor about this issue? I don’t think your problem is as much which school to choose, but how to keep your grades high enough so you have one to attend. Both SUNYs have similar mid-range GPAs for accepted students on their Common Data Sets, so my concern is that if Oneonta rescinds their acceptance for that low grade, Fredonia might do the same. Good luck.
I see from another thread you’re failing a math class. Will you be able to pull your grade up if you get some tutoring? If you applied for a STEM major, I can see why a failing grade in math might be a problem for them. It might be for Fredonia as well.
Great job pulling your grades up, Mooswag. One of my children has dyslexia, dyscalculia, and dysgraphia, so I know the challenges kids like you face. Ignore people with attitudes and keep up the good work.
