SUNY Oneonta vs SUNY GENESEO

I'm a Senior in HS, I'm panicking about college as of right now I'm undecided what I want to major in and it's driving me nut. I want to go to Oneonta but I'm also thinking about Geneseo but I truly can't make up my mind.
Which school is better for an undecided student?
•What's Geneseo/Oneonta like?
•What's there to do during weekend?
• Are the classes tough at both colleges?
•Which college offers better food?
• Which college has a better social life?
•In which college are student the happiest?

PLEASE HELP A DESPERATE HS SENIOR OUT!

If at all possible, ask someone to drive you to each school (you’re much too panicked to drive) and check it out for yourself. Even better, spend two days and a night on campus while it’s in session. And don’t be a wallflower while you’re there! Ask people these questions you have and take notes when they’re not looking (I’m being serious). You might make the wrong decision, but it will be a mistake based on your assessments and not, God forbid, ours.

If visiting is absolutely impossible or if after visiting you’re still not sure, then you need to step up in other ways: call the admissions officer for your school, tell her or him what’s going on, ask the AO what he or she can suggest, particularly about how the school helps undecideds. Skype or phone interviews of students are usually pretty easy to set up. does admissions have a blog or a Facebook page? can the AO put you in touch with an undecided student thru email? AOs handle these questions all the time. If one AO won’t, ask to speak to the head of admissions. Then you can use the resources of College Confidential: read the Geneseo and Oneonta threads; ask questions there. PM people who contribute there.

You can get these answers with a little effort. I hope you will.

Easy…Overall Geneseo is the better choice…check out the geneseo page for more info.

I agree that you should visit both schools if you can. Finding the right “fit” is the most important part of that process. Overall, SUNY Geneseo has a stronger reputation academically but that does not in and of itself make it the better school for you.
