Is it true you receive them on orientation and such at the start of your freshman year?
Would it be pointless to buy one then?

The free shirts lack quality in design and material since they are mass produced. I bought a bunch of nicer shirts before I enrolled and am still happy to wear them regularly.

If you only want one then yeah, it’s pointless. I’ve got at least a dozen free college shirts I’ve picked up over my college career. They’re not all particularly nice but hey, they were free.

You do get tons! I have around 3 that were free, and then maybe 2 or 3 more that were cheap ($10 or less)…and I’m just finishing up my freshman year!

If you go to a big school then you will prob. get more shirts than a smaller school, imo. At Purdue we got a good amount of free t-shirts from the school, random organizations, local businesses, etc.

I’ve got a ton of free t-shirts saved from undergrad I’m planning on making into a t-shirt quilt someday.

^ :D

lol

I got my Cornell Tshirt today…quality is OK its just Fruit of the Loom

Red shirt with white lettering stating Cornell 2014 in the typical ‘college block’ letters you see in many college apparel. Quality’s OK design is nothing phenomenal but it’s pretty good

Regarding quality: You don’t need free t-shirts to be of superb quality, especially since you’ll get so many of them! But I’ve found that generally, the quality isn’t any worse than what you would get at any regular store.

Also, I go to a small school, but we get lots of shirts. As I said, I’ve gotten about 6 either cheap or free ones this year alone.

^ Well if the quality is alright then it is fine isn’t it. College t-shirts aren’t meant to be a fashion statement or wore to a formal event or anything.

I make it a goal every year to get at least 10 free t-shirts from my school.

Wow, you guys get a lot of shirts. I’ve only gotten 2 so far, and those were only for freshmen – I won’t get any more next year.

I’m wearing an NYU t-shirt right now that I got for free. I don’t go to NYU.

I think I just decided to take the plunge and own something purple.

^ Did you visit NYU? But NYU would be cool because it has NY in the name so anyone would know.

It’s weird to wear stuff like “Harvard” and "NYU and “Georgetown” because it usually doesn’t mean you go there. I’m pretty sure they’re sold at places other than the schools, and I often see 14 year old thugs wearing harvard shirts…

I’ve only received one shirt and that was on the acceptance day. The quality of the shirt(the material) was not the best and it fit a little tight despite the bigger size, yet the design was pretty cool. On the side it has one of our famous structures, so yay to that :D

so where can i get these free t-shirts?
i use them as pjs.

I live in the West Village and I have some friends at NYU. It is cool because I get to see a lot of the school. One of my friends has taken me to a class of his and I’ve been in some of the major buildings. I use the Coles rec center place a lot.
