Free Microsoft and Adobe software

I saw this on another post and thought it deserved its own thread. There is a program for Cal students to download free Microsoft Office and Windows, and Adobe Creative Suites software. Below is the link giving direction.

STC ~ Downloads

we already know this

I didn’t! Thanks!

if you didn’t know this already, then you’d probably did not read the messages on your UC Berkeley login homepage…

Seriously though, this info was like on the 2nd bullet.

the question is, when does it end? will it be there for the rest of the year? because I want to download it after Windows 8 comes out.

I believe it expires at the end of this school year. Windows 8 will be out sometime this fall so I think you’re good.

@icecream we get two licenses, so you can download now and after windows 8 comes out! Also why would you even want windows 8? Unless you have a touch screen computer.

oh didn’t know this, thank you so much!

where does it say that we get two licenses for Windows?

Will someone please explain what this means(I saw it in the FAQ on the site) -

“Does the Adobe software expire upon graduation or does the license we receive when downloading it allow us to use the software indefinitely?
Your Adobe license expires when you graduate or withdraw from the University. However, your license will not be automatically revoked, i.e., taken away from the machine that you installed it on.”

Also, it says we get 2 licences for adobe but one for microsoft. Does this mean I can download the adobe CS6 on 2 laptops??

I think it means after you graduate, you may no longer receive support or updates from Adobe. But you’re right, it’s a bit ambiguous.

I want to know about installing to 2 laptops as well…

You can get Adobe licenses for 2 desktops/laptops.
