Free period sophomore year?

Hi,
I'm going to be a sophomore this year. In my schedule I will have:
Four AP's (Physics, Calculus, Spanish, and world history)
among other honors classes. I am also a competitive figure skater, and participate in extracurricular activities such as orchestra, debate, Hosa leadership, and various other clubs. I can't seem to find a good class to fill up a space in my schedule.

Usually sophomores at my school are not allowed a free period; but my counselor seems pretty certain that I will be allowed one if I ask. However, I'm worried about how my schedule will look to colleges(including ivy leagues) if I take a free period.
(but I really think it will benefit me and give me a lot more time to fit everything in!)
Will colleges look down on a free period so early in high school? Thanks in advance!!!!

If you score high enough on the 4 APs to get awarded “AP Scholar With Honor” (4 exams with score of 3 or better) as a sophomore this is unusual. Good luck on this challenge - it will be fantastic if you can do this. The number awarded by grade, by state are listed here

(under the AP Scholar link) but it is not many Sophomores in each state (and some states don’t have any who do this in 10th grade). As long as your High School guidance counselor can say that you are taking the hardest schedule reasonably possible (and you scored well on these tests, and are taking an unusually hard 10th grade year) why would anyone care or notice that you had a free period?
