Do you have more free time in college than you do in HS?
You spend less time in class every day, yes. More homework / out-of-class studying though.

Yes but depending on what classes you have, you’ll be spending that time studying or doing some kind of project.
If you spend your “free time” partying or playing video games you will be a drag on the college’s freshman retention rate.
I have more free time than I did in high school, but I went to a STEM magnet high school that is extremely rigorous. However, most of my “free time” in college is spent working on coding assignments (I’m a CS and math major), watching tv (way more than I should lol), practicing for music (either by myself or in small rehearsals), and eating food with my friends.
I have more free time but I spend a lot of it doing coursework (readings, essays, studying, and so on.) I had a LOT of free time my freshman year, so I decided to get an on-campus job as a tutor and now I TA in my University’s English Department.
I’m a STEM major who did the full IB Diploma in high school. Overall, there is a lot less homework than in HS, but you will have to do much more independent work outside of class, like studying, reading textbooks, and taking notes. Even so, you will have more free time than you will know what to do with, and it will be boring if you don’t get involved on campus. I’m in several clubs and still have tons of free time. Next semester I’ll be rushing a fraternity and getting a job on campus and I still expect to have some free time to relax.
Obviously your classes will be your number one priority, but there’s no reason why you shouldn’t party (unless you don’t like it, that’s fine) or play video games during your free time as long as your performance in the classroom doesn’t suffer.
Yes
One of my kids had more free time – she was almost bored first semester. But she joined some clubs and got a job in the writing center, and soon was hopping busy like in high school. The other is at a notoriously rigorous school, and has very little free time for anything but classes.
