Ok I just want to know how big of a jump it is from french 3 to french 4. Do you review everything you learned in French 3 or is it all new stuff?

Do you really expect people here to know how the french language system works at your school? Why don’t you ask the teacher of the class instead? Every school does it differently.

Yes.

Although I have never taken French, I can tell you that foreign languages are one of the few courses in school that I would not recommend skipping - the only exception being if you are in an environment where the language you are taking is commonly spoken.

Sure, you can teach yourself all the French 3 grammar that you need - quite easily, too, I’d imagine - but you won’t be getting the full exposure to the language. The exposure you get is crucial, because it increases your vocabulary, increases your listening skills, and it improves your speaking skills - three things, especially the last two, that are very hard to simply self-study out of a book.
