French SAT II

I am applying to Harvard and I heard from a representative that an SAT II subject are mostly looked at for placement. Anything above a 600 will give u credit apparently. I recently took the SAT II subject test for French and was hoping to crack a 700.. I was pretty sure I did, but it turned out that i scored a 670. Should I retake or is a 670 decent enough?

I always thought only good AP scores are considered for college credit, and SAT II scores were to show aptitude in a certain subject because a school's grading system isn't always reliable. I guess taking SAT IIs should depend on what major you are planning to do, not credit. But I do know Harvard likes looking at 800s.
