that was a very unfortunate experience.

lol I agree

for the one with the carousel, was it A, or the one that mentioned the horse (C i think)?
i barely remember any of the questions because i was so panicked throughout the whole thing! :(
my first subject test.
and i'd cancel but i need it for my early decision school.
THIS SUCKED.

I also found it harder than I had expected, although I prepared exclusively using Barron's. The listening part especially. But if it was like that for everybody, let's hope the curve will be pretty good.

the pictures ones SUCKED. what the hell was the horse one? I thought the diologues were really easy though, except for maybe one of them.

What did you guys think about the passages and the grammar?

It was ALL hard for me! I used Barron's for prep and knew the book pretty well but OH MY LORD. I'm hoping for upwards of a 600 at this point. It was really that bad.

yea i felt the listening was a lot harder than usual... i understood the speaking part, but not the pictures!

Lets hope the curve will be nice.....I think it's usually like -9=800 so i'm hoping it will be good. I'm hoping for a 750 or above but i don't know if that will happen.....I've spent a lot of time in France but some of the pictures literally didn't make any sense to me at all!!

Do any of you remember the questions on that one ad selling the apartments? Was the thing not mentionned in the the quality of the construction? or something else? I was pressed for time and i couldn't figure out what it was!

same^ pics were a killlerrr
don't remember wut i put, i narrowed it down to that and something else :/

Same. I think i put construction quality.
Really, -9 is an 800? So how does the scale go from there? What would get me a 600 do you think? :)

600 is probably about 25 wrong, which is about 34 raw points off?

Wow that's a really nice curve.

but not a nice test :/

bumpp (comment peut-on dire ca en francais?)

C'etait peut-etre la fin de ma vie? haha i don't know exactly how to say that though. I was really rushed for time at the end so I literally answered the questions on the last passage in like 15 seconds. it sucked.

Does anyone remember all the passages?
i remember one about like comparing plants/gardens to children, one ad about apartments, and one like financial weird school ad. or something.

Oh, and a listening long passage about an artist maybe? but i don't remember much. the listening was like a blur basically.

does anyone remember any others? like written passages or listening passages? I'm like freaking out about my scores i don't know why. but i need to do well on this.

oh and i found the usual french with listening curve posted on another thread. it only goes to 650 though. here it is (from the real SAT subject test book):

79-70: 800
69: 790
68-67:780
66: 770
65-64: 760
63: 750
...
56: 700
49: 650

that doesn't seem too bad? does that mean a lot of native speakers don't take it? i thought they would since there's less grammar than on the purely lit test?

also, since this one had 81-3 questions (i forgot the number, would that make the above scores slighly higher?

I think so, because yeah i remember there were at least 80-85 questions. But i think the curve is around like -9 or -10=800 regardless. I hope it's nice.

I was thinking about the native speaker thing too.....but honestly I think the percentage of actual native speakers taking french with listening has to be pretty small. Because there aren't very many actual native speakers in the U.S. and it doesn't look that good really if they did well on the French SAT II if they are actually FRENCH. lol. it's just a given. And even if there are a lot of native speakers taking it, many more non native speakers are taking the test. But I'm really not sure. I guess we'll have to wait until nov 20th to see how we did.....

does that -9 or -10 include questions wrong or just points? prob points :/, so 7-8 wrong=800?

yeah i think that's total points wrong....so like 7 or 8 wrong would be an 800. Unless you omitted questions...i think i may have omitted one but i don't remember. did you omit any or just guess if you weren't sure?
