So freshmen register for classes at their orientation. Does that mean if you can’t get to an early orientation date, your odds of a class filling up is greater? Or do they reserve spots for all orientation dates? How does it work? Thanks.
The first orientation will have “first” choice of classes for freshman ( the upperclassmen have first choice in reality). the later your orientation, the harder it will be to register for certain classes. They do not reserve classes for anyone. If you are going in with AP credits, it could be even harder. Go in knowing this. Also, you should make a list of the classes you will want to take for your major, then have backups along with backups for the backups just in case. You will have a certain time/date to finish your registration. Ask your adviser for help if needed, but always know to fill your schedule with classes within your major even if you need to look ahead for classes that do not have any pre-reqs or pre-reqs you have already fulfilled by having AP credits. You can drop a class after you add a class too. So if you see that someone has dropped a class at a later date, swoop in and grab it, then drop a class you really don’t need right away. Just don’t drop a class before not having added one.
