Hello people here at College Confidential. Last time I posted here it was a very friendly community and really helped answer many of my questions. I'm going to become a Freshman next year, and I wanted to ask some questions for some of the people here who have been around the block more than I have. If I could get any help I'd greatly appreciate it.

If it makes any difference I go to a Junior High as opposed to Middle School, so I have 7th through 9th grade in my school, and then I head off to high school. I'm not sure if it's a problem, but we do not have many Honors classes at my school. Only mathematics ,and World Studies English, and Social Studies. None of these are AP's, I am not aware of the situation outside of my school, but do other aspirants for an Ivy League school take AP classes in 9th grade? If I had this opportunity I would take them, but we do not have any AP classes so I'm particularly nervous.

My other main concern is taking all AP classes. I do very well in Social Studies (A), but I am fairly lacking in English (A-). I know I cannot take AP social studies, and Honors English but I'm not sure if it's a better idea to get more college credit (Take AP's) or to get straight A's with those two honor's classes.

My third question is whether I should take every AP class available that will contribute to my career choice (Computer Engineering) I am currently in the process of learning programming, and am fairly adept with html (Not very far, but it will help on my college application right?) I plan on taking all AP sciences, as I am very good at science, and all AP mathematics courses, since I am very good at Mathematics. Social Studies AP I would take, but I must know if it's better to risk an A- in AP English, or to get assured A's in Honors S.S. and English.

Thanks for the help in advance, and if it makes any difference I hope to go to MIT to study computer technology. Any advice to help get to MIT would be welcome too. Thanks!

Edit: Just to clarify I must take both AP English, and AP Social Studies. Or Honors for both of these classes.
