Freshman English Course Requirement

<p>Hi,</p>

<p>I just found out that "Interpretation and Argument" course #7601 is the required freshman English writing course. I also checked out who will be teaching it and it looks like all the teachers are graduate students who are in doctoral programs. Just wondering if that's standard procedure these days because I know others who will have an associate professor or a professor for their freshman English classes in other universities.</p>

<p>That is standard procedure at CMU - Interpretation and Argument and Computer Skills Workshop are the only courses that are not taught by professors.</p>
