I am currently a freshman in high school and UCSC is my dream school. This year i have not done to well my average unweighted gpa is a 3.25, I know that it is low but I am planning on improving sophomore and junior year. I was wondering if there is still a chance that UCSC would accept me even though i did not do so well freshman year
Luckily for you, the UC’s do not consider Freshman grades in their UC GPA calculation, only 10-11th grades.

The UC’s still require you to self-report your 9th grades on the application to make sure you fulfill the a-g course requirements. Senior grades are also not included. They are looked at to make sure you maintain your provisional admission and do not get any D’s or F’s.
You have 2 more years to get your grades up so no worries. Keep working hard and you will succeed.
