Chances of admission?

I’m a rising senior in high school. My grades have consistently been As and Bs but I got a C in my (regular) math class my last semester of junior year, though my grades in general were lower this year, and I do not have an upward trajectory. I was struggling with depression and other personal issues this year, but I know that’s not an excuse. My unweighted GPA is 3.45 and weighted is 4.0. My ACT score is a 32, though it is possible I might raise it a few points. and I take mostly honors and will have taken four total AP classes by the end of my high school career. I’m involved in my school’s high ranking academic decathlon team, and I’ve done multiple internships and 45+ hours of community service at the Boys and Girls Club and the local humane society. I also have Girl Scout’s bronze and silver awards. I’m planning to increase my grades a lot senior year. What are my chances of admittance?

Senior grades are not considered for admission purposes at the UC’s. What is your UC GPA capped weighted since that is what will be used 10-11th grades only.

Intended major?

I think the capped GPA is 3.75. I’m not sure about my major but it will probably be something to do with English or History - not anything STEM related.

You look like a solid applicant for UCSC and your ACT is very competitive. Good EC’s so write some outstanding essays.

Freshman admit rates for UC GPA (capped/weighted) of 3.40-3.79:

UCSC: 59%

GPA and test scores of middle 25%-75% students

High School GPA UC GPA: 3.65 - 4.09

Best of luck.
