My unweighted gpa from freshmen year to junior year is 3.31 and the weighted gpa is 3.42. My ACT score is 30. I passed both the AP psychology and AP Statistics exam. I coached a 7th/8th grade team for 6 weeks (I got paid so it’s not volunteer service). I was a camp counselor at a 5th grade field trip which was five days long so that’s 120 hours of volunteering. I also was in the UNICEF and Red Cross clubs during my freshman year. Lastly, I speak Arabic, play guitar, and hike.
Your GPA is well below average for UCSC, I honestly think it is a long shot but, encourage you to apply anyhow. You simply never know - but be sure to apply to a couple of CSUs that you are confident will admit you. How about Chico, Sonoma and perhaps Long Beach?
I got in with a 3.1 for biological sciences, believe me, if I can do it you can to! My essays were awesome, so I think that’s what got me in, because my test scores weren’t. If you have any questions, message me!
As long as you’re not applying as an Engineering or CS major, you probably have a decent chance at UCSC. Honestly isn’t that hard to get in if you have a well written essay along with average-ish grades(yours are a bit below).
Your test scores are good, but your GPA is low for UCSC. Also, UCSC doesn’t really use freshman GPA, so just calculate 10th-11th grade.
