Coming from Texas, how big of a deal is it to have airconditioning in your dorm at penn? I know I would die here without it... Also, do most Wharton people not stay at hill because it is not as close to huntsman as the other dorms? Other than the quad and hill, what dorm do a lot of freshman stay in... and have fun in?

a/c isn’t necessary for most of the school year, only like in sept-oct and april-may

and wharton kids are all over, plenty are in hill - and lots of freshmen live in kings court - english house too (this is where the huntsman program kids live, for example)

Proximity is not the issue; there are just more freshman who choose to stay in the quad.

It can get fairly warm here around summertime, so A/C is definitely a plus. However, I think this is balanced out by the fact that students at Hill don’t have to leave the building for food when it starts snowing. =)

You really only need a/c for the first and last week of the year. Maybe 2 weeks at each end.

IMHO, the far more annoying thing is the university’s policy on the heat/ac switch. You need to have a certain number of consecutive days with sufficient weather for them to switch over, which means they are always late to tun on the heat and late to turn it off.
