My S is completing the housing forms for St Mary's College of MD. Any suggestions for freshman housing? Which dorms are favorites? Thanks.

I'd advise coed since Dorchester, the all men's dorm has no AC - who was the genius that came up with that?? seriously. haha.

i copied this from a facebook group i'm apart of. i was wondering the same thing...

Calvert: supposedly quiet, but lax about drinking/smoking/balcony parties. the balcony, is close to the river (and closest to the point) and the rooms are overall larger than others. Mostly upper classmen. Close to food. cons: far away from center and north campus, and not many ppl outside the dorm will come see you.
Caroline/ PG: Seriously, like all your friends will live there, and you will want to be there and go visit constantly. only a problem if you're in calvert. co-ed, they say its a lot of fun, pretty sure they renovated the bathrooms but there are still really few stalls? Pretty standard double rooms with a couple of big quads. Fun stuff.
Dorch: really, a guy would explain this better. They finally removed the carpet which was apparently rank. messy, next to the shoe tree, do-hoes, in the caroline-pg-dorch dorm circle. in the middle of everything. balcony.
Queen Anne: i've heard it has its benefits, but all girls and its pretty much always clean and they watch shows in the common room together, has the co-op kitchen (vegetarian meal plan kitchen downstairs) and you can see the river and the pond from it. kinda far away from stuff, but closer to north campus than calvert. And "LOCK DOWN" just means you need your key card, which all dorms require anyway, so any student can go in. You can still have guys stay over.

if i may, what fb group is that, carasimp?

it's "smcm seahawks 2013"

it is at the center of the hill dorms and the center of fun.

Only qualm is it is at the middle of the frisbee golf course, but if you’re a golfer, you’re set.
