Freshman Housing?

To anyone who knows, how are the quality of the dorms that freshman are housed in? Are there certain heavily freshman dorms? All I know is I stayed in Pembroke 3 I think for ADOCH and that jawn was ghetto! Is Pembroke 3 a distinctly shoddy dorm or is that common? Anyone?

Keeney is primarily freshmen. The room I was in in Emery was pretty nice. I saw a room in Perkins and it looked kind of drab. I dunno, the dorms seemed pretty standard to me.

NP 3 is one of the worst. Don't worry.

There are various dorms that are primarily freshmen. Yes, some are in Keeney Quad. My daughter is a freshmen and is in a dorm on the Pembroke campus and it is called Morris Hall. She loves her dorm. Her room is 14 x 16, has nice and adequate furnishings....and her room and one other double share a private bathroom! Across the hall is a kitchen and laundry room. The entire "unit" of fifty or so frosh are like a "family" and there is a sense of community in the dorm. They do not have to walk outside to go to the dining hall. There is also a gym in an adjoining area. They are just steps off of Thayer Street. She has really enjoyed this dorm freshman year. She won't be on Pembroke campus next year but felt for freshmen that it was a fun place to be and her dorm and room were nice and had many advantages. So, the dorm you stayed in likely was not one of the better ones.

Is pembroke campus where a majority of freshman are housed?

I'm just a parent and not an authority on this information but I BELIEVE freshmen are housed in several different areas on campus and in many different dorms. Many are in Keeney Quad. Many are on the Pembroke campus (which by the way is just a few blocks from the main green in one direction and has one of the two campus cafeterias). Some are in Perkins (different area), some in Hope College (main green), some in one of the dorms on Wristen Quad, and so forth. There are definitely a lot in Keeney and a lot in the dorms on Pembroke.

While this is not "data", I can tell you that when I asked my daughter where she wanted to live next year (on Wristen Quad), if she would miss what she has felt has been a great location (Pembroke campus) this year and she said that although she loved where she lived this year (Morris Hall on Pembroke), it was primarily freshmen and she wanted to live where it wasn't (Wristen Quad). I hope that helps.

aahh i was in NP3 too, it was gross lol

but i saw a lot of the other dorms, and most of them were really nice :)
